AMSA exhibition at the Ford Gallery, Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti

October 6 - 31, 2003

The exhibition, travelling from the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee, features 67 works from 24 of North America's top medallic artists, including: Barbara Arum, Richard Bonham, George Cuhaj, Eugene Daub, Anne-Lise Deering, Kenneth Douglas, Roger Hannam, Amanullah Haiderzad, Barry Johnston, Marie Jean Lederman, Jacqueline Lorieo, James Malone-Beach, Mashiko, Anna Meszaros, Michael Meszaros, Del Nebigging, Erin Elizabeth Payne, Sylvia Perle, Ann Shaper Pollack, Marion Roller, Alex Shagin, Jeanne Stevens-Sollman, Andrew Sterling and Bud Wertheim.

The medals are cast in bronze, silver and copper and vary in size from three to seven inches. The show will include displays featuring the tools and techniques used in the design and production of medallic art.

The opening reception is planned for Monday, October 6th, 4:00-6:00 PM in the Gallery lobby, and the exhibition will be on display until October 31, 2003.

Ford Gallery is located in Ford Hall on Eastern Michigan University campus and is a valuable resource for the university and surrounding communities as well as the local, regional and national arts community.
