IV International Biennial of Contemporary Medal in Seixal, Portugal
International Contemporary Art Medal Seminar, Fair, and Courses

November 2005 - January 2006

As a part of the IV Biennial of Contemporary Art Medals, the city of Seixal hosted an international seminar, along with a medal fair.

Guest speaker MASHIKO NAKASHIMA, director of Medialia...Rack & Hamper Gallery, New Approach, Inc., New York and professor at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, gave a lecture about The market and teaching the art of contemporary medals in the USA. MARÍA JOÃO FERREIRA, coordinator of the Plastic Arts Sector, Seixal Municipal Council, spoke about The Start of Seixal's activity in the field of contemporary art medals. Debates followed lectures and reading of papers by participants.

Both, the seminar and the medal fair took place on sunday, November 20, 2005 in the FORMER MUNDET REFECTORIES.

Art Medal workshops, run by VOLTE FACE - Contemporary Art Medal Research and Study Centre, Fine Arts Faculty, University of Lisbon, will be held in several sessions from November, 2005 to January, 2006. The resulting work will be exhibited at the Corroios Municipal Gallery from March 4 to April 1, 2006

Enrollment fee for each of them is 50.00 Euros, 25.00 Euros if you have a student's card, and free for artists participating in the exhibition
